Perform at Summit StageFest

Summit StageFest is the area's largest theater-focused festival. Last year's inaugural event drew over 4,000 people and 30 performance groups. We expect this year's StageFest to be even bigger! Audiences will enjoy performances across four covered stages and two street performance areas. Over 100 artists, exhibitors, and food vendors will also participate in the event and attract new audiences that may not have experienced live theater in the past.

We are seeking theatrical performances of all types, including plays, musicals, opera, performance art, dance, improv comedy, miming, puppetry, barbershop & a cappella groups, wandering minstrels, ethnic music/dance, flash mobs, staged combat, and more (sorry, no bands).

NEW THIS YEAR: The four main stages and their audiences will be covered with canopies.

Performer Guidelines

These guidelines explain the timing, staging, and other information for performers.

Performer Guidelines Details

Performance Timing

Summit StageFest runs from 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018. To allow time for early audiences to build, the first stage performances will start at noon.

Music Equipment

If you are bringing a musical instrument, please let us know as soon as possible. You can set it up either right in front/to the side of the stage or directly on the stage.

If you need to play recorded music, please bring your own sound source (laptop, phone, or CD). We will have a CD player, adapters, amplification, and a sound person.

Please include extra time to arrive. Traffic may be slow. We will be looking for your arrival behind the stage at least 30 minutes before the start of your show. Please notify the Stage Wrangler as soon as you arrive. Limited parking will be available nearby, but you may be asked to move additional cars to a designated location up to a block away after dropping off performers and equipment.

Performance & Setup Timing

Every stage performance will start on the hour and can last up to 45 minutes. You will see a light from the sound booth at twenty until the hour. It will signal that you have 5 minutes left. We appreciate your keeping to the time limit.

At a quarter before the hour, you will have 15 minutes to strike while the next show sets up at the same time. We will have a Stage Wrangler and Ushers to assist you.

Dressing Rooms

Centrally located women's and men's dressing rooms are available for performers.

Exhibitor Booths for Performers

Free shared booth space will be provided near the front of each stage for performers that wish to distribute information or sell ticket and merchandise.

Rain Plan

Summit StageFest happens rain or shine. We ask you to be present and ready for your performance regardless of the forecast. The stages and audience areas of the four main stages will be covered. We have a limited number of alternate locations available to reschedule performances. Rescheduled time slots are available on a first come, first served basis. If you cannot perform during your regularly scheduled set for any reason, you may talk to Diane Geiger to see if an alternate time slot is available at another location.
